Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Mayfair, London

Experience: Minimum 3 years (UK experience only)

Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of UK-based bookkeeping experience, preferably within financial services, real estate, or investment sectors. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with compliance, and supporting day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all company entities
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial reports
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax filings
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors
  • Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain records of financial transactions and handle data entry

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience in the UK
  • Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and VAT regulations
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAT qualified or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working in investment, property, or finance environments
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance
