We’re recruiting a Bookkeeper to join a friendly and supportive accountancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid bookkeeping experience who enjoys working with a varied client portfolio in a fast-paced environment. About You:

  • Qualified Accounting Technician (ATI, AAT, or equivalent) is desirable
  • Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping or accounts experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, VAT, and cloud accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused approach

About Your New Role:

Always:

  • Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
  • Maintain sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and control accounts
  • Process journals and ensure financial records are complete and accurate
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues

Often:

  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts
  • Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
  • Support year-end accounts preparation by maintaining accurate records
  • Work with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks

Occasionally:

  • Assist with payroll processing where required
  • Support colleagues during busy periods and with ad hoc client projects
  • Attend internal training sessions and continue your professional development

Never:
