Description
Are you looking to start a career in accountancy and finance? Whether you're just beginning your journey or are already studying AAT, this could be the perfect opportunity.
At Monahans, part of Sumer, we're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Bookkeeper to join our team. No previous bookkeeping or accountancy experience is required. We're looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
We'll support you in gaining your professional qualifications through AAT Level 3 or Level 4, providing hands-on experience alongside structured study support to help you build a successful career in accountancy.

Key Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Assist with bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
- Process invoices and financial transactions
- Support bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with VAT returns and management information
- Learn and work with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
- Develop a strong understanding of accounting principles and client services
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- An interest in finance, bookkeeping, or accountancy
- Strong numerical and organisational skills
- Good attention to detail
- A proactive and positive approach to learning
- Strong communication skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
No prior experience is required. Applicants already studying AAT are welcome to apply, but equally we'd love to hear from those looking to take their first step into the profession.
