Bookkeeping Manager
£35,000 - £40,000 | Full-time or Part-time | Hybrid & Flexible Working
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a role where you can take real ownership of your client portfolio while benefiting from genuine flexibility around how and when you work?
We're working with a progressive and growing accountancy practice looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, technically strong bookkeeper who enjoys client contact and wants the autonomy to manage their own workload.
With both full-time and part-time options available, alongside hybrid working and flexibility, the firm is particularly keen to speak with experienced candidates looking for a role that offers a better balance without compromising on responsibility or career satisfaction.
The Opportunity
As a Bookkeeping Manager, you'll manage a portfolio of clients across all aspects of their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements. You'll become a trusted point of contact, ensuring records are accurate, deadlines are met and clients receive a responsive, high-quality service.
This is a hands-on portfolio management role rather than a purely transactional bookkeeping position. You'll work closely with a variety of businesses, helping them maintain effective financial records and supporting them with their wider accounting requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
