Role Description

The Bookkeeping Manager is a full-time role based just outside Warwick. The role involves:

  • Overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping activities
  • Supervising and mentoring a team of experienced bookkeeping staff
  • Collaborating with accountants and advisors to support client reporting and compliance
  • Streamlining bookkeeping processes
  • Optimising use of accounting software
  • Supporting clients with queries related to their financial records

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong bookkeeping and journal entry skills, with proven experience maintaining accurate ledgers and transactional records
  • Experience of preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements for SMEs and owner-managed businesses
  • Experience supervising or coaching bookkeeping staff, with the ability to organise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with accounting software and related finance tools, including experience implementing or improving digital bookkeeping processes
  • A solid understanding of core finance and accounting principles, including reconciliation, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on data integrity
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-specialists
  • A relevant accounting or finance qualification (such as AAT or equivalent), and prior experience in a practice or multi-client environment, would be beneficial
