About The Role
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in practice accounting to manage multiple client portfolios efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the preparation of management and year-end accounts. The position involves direct communication with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries, ensuring that all financial data is accurate, compliant, and delivered within deadlines. This is a vital role within our team, contributing to the overall financial health of our clients and supporting the work of our accountants.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and skills, including:
- Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Proficiency in cloud accounting software, particularly Xero, and strong Excel skills.
- Experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- A proactive attitude with a positive approach to work.
- Relevant bookkeeping qualification or studying towards one is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Bookkeeper include:
- Managing bookkeeping tasks for a portfolio of clients, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and journal entries efficiently.
- Performing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, providing insightful financial data.
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries and provide support as needed.
- Maintaining organized financial records using cloud accounting software, ensuring data security and integrity.
- Supporting accountants in the preparation of year-end accounts and other statutory reports.
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately within set deadlines, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
