Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced BPA Manager for 12 months maternity cover. You will be responsible for leading InterGen’s planning, forecasting and business partnering activities, ensuring that financial forecasts are accurate, robust and aligned to our strategic objectives. Through effective stakeholder engagement, insightful analysis and modelling, you will support business decision making, communicate performance expectations to stakeholders, and help drive business growth.

You will oversee forecasting cycles, challenge key business assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations for senior leaders across our business.

The Team

The Business Planning & Analysis (BPA) team is responsible for delivering the financial insight that supports strategic decision making across InterGen. Through internal and external management reporting, forecasting, investment appraisal and M&A support, we help the business identify opportunities and manage risks that drive long term value.

Joining our wider Finance team, you'll become part of a supportive, high-performing environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are encouraged. As a BPA Manager, you'll work closely with the BPA Analyst and Head of Forecasting & Investments while also partnering with stakeholders across the business, providing excellent exposure and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at InterGen.

Our Edinburgh office is a friendly and exciting environment with regular company-funded social events, seasonal gatherings and charitable initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

Business Partnering

You’ll lead financial business partnering across InterGen working closely with operational, commercial and finance stakeholders to support forecasting, planning and strategic decisions. You will have ownership of the short-run marginal cost process to support commodity trading decisions by our sister company Powertica. You will be a key point of contact for senior InterGen stakeholders, (Managing Director, CFO) and key people at Powertica, to ensure critical planning assumptions, business performance and strategic objectives are all aligned.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
