Job Description

What is the purpose of this Role?

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the USBE Corporate Compliance and Risk assessment framework for the UK branch;
  • Design and delivery of risk and compliance frameworks to support Third Country Branch status for USBE in the UK;
  • Assist in the deployment and operation of the Bank’s Compliance and Conduct Risk programs including but not exclusively regulatory change, risk and compliance assessments, rtc;
  • Act as designated point of contact with local regulatory bodies and in conjunction with the USBE Regulatory Affairs team;
  • Facilitate, participate and consult in the execution of the Second Line of Defence assurance and monitoring programs;
  • Promote a culture of compliance in the branch through active engagement with management and staff providing Compliance advice, guidance and training as required;
  • Preparation and delivery of Compliance reports in the format and with the content as may be specified by EFS Compliance and within reporting deadlines agreed;
  • Monitoring developments on local legal/regulatory websites for potential regulatory compliance obligations/issues. Proactively engage support functions on any changes;
  • Assist in group level Compliance tasks / projects e.g. queries, due diligence, reviews, as required to support the centralized teams based in Dublin

Basic Qualifications

  • Third level qualification (degree or similar) in a relevant subject (e.g. law, business, finance, etc.) and/or Masters and / or relevant professional qualifications would be an advantage

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 6+ years experience in a Compliance role within Financial Services, preferably within a Credit Institution, Payment Services firm, or MiFID Investment Firm;
  • Experience of UK Regulatory regime and proven experience of regulatory engagement at senior level;
  • Knowledge of key compliance and regulatory topics, including Deposit taking, PSD 2, MiFID II and CASS;
  • History of practical application of Compliance risk management practices;
  • Proven track record of working on own initiative and delivering practical outcomes to a professional standard;
  • Excellent project management skills with a strong emphasis on prioritisation, communication and delivery;
  • Demonstrable experience of interaction and influencing at a management level;
  • Experience in managing different stakeholders across first and second lines of defence;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Collaborative in approach with strong emphasis on delivery and execution
