What To Expect

As a Branch Cyber Security Lead, you will join us on our journey and undertake a high-impact role responsible for the delivery of functional strategies and for embedding effective cyber security approaches across Post Office Branch services and technologies.

You will be working under the direction of the Head of Branch Cyber Security, providing expert cyber security leadership to teams delivering branch technology services by assuring that agreed controls, standards and patterns are applied consistently and proportionately. This role supports technology transformation by shaping and assuring security requirements, guiding security implementation, and ensuring security is embedded as the standard way of working. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business and help coordinate across CISO functions working with Security Architecture, Assurance, Risk and others to deliver security functions into the business.

Qualifications

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Relevant cyber security certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent cloud security qualifications.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing cyber security risks and delivering mitigation strategies in complex environments.
  • Broad knowledge across multiple security disciplines, including governance, compliance, assurance, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and on-premise technologies, alongside security, regulatory, and data protection frameworks (e.g. Cyber Essentials Plus, NIST, ISO27001, ITIL, PCI DSS, GDPR).
  • Experience implementing and monitoring IT controls within large organisations.
  • Skilled in producing reports, dashboards, and documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and resolve complex issues through collaboration and influence.
