Branch Manager

We are recruiting for a Branch Manager to join our thriving Jewson branch in North Shields (NE29 7XJ).
This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30 – 17:00, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.
We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager with a strong sales focus to lead our team, grow sales and deliver an excellent customer experience. You will build strong customer relationships, identify new sales opportunities and develop the local market, while supporting your team to achieve their goals and ensuring the branch operates safely and effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, coach and support the branch team to deliver strong sales and customer service performance.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions.
- Identify opportunities to grow sales by developing your understanding of the local market and customer base.
- Work closely with the wider network and suppliers to meet customer requirements and support business activity.
- Maintain high standards of stock management, including regular stock checks and accurate stock levels.
- Lead by example on Health & Safety, ensuring you and your team work safely at all times.
- Continuously look for ways to improve branch performance, customer experience and ways of working.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in the building materials industry is preferred.
- Proven experience of leading, motivating and developing a team.
- A strong sales and commercial focus, with the ability to identify and maximise opportunities to grow the business.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a genuine focus on delivering great customer service.
- Good knowledge of the local market and an understanding of customer needs within the building materials sector.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
