Job Title: Branch Manager
Location: New Southgate
Salary: up to £70,000 per annum plus bonus and benefits
Role: Permanent

This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially astute leader to step into a flagship branch within a growing independent builders’ merchant. Operating at significant scale, this business is investing heavily in its people, infrastructure and customer proposition as part of its ongoing expansion.
If you are a strong people leader with a background in high-volume trade, merchant or retail-led environments, and you thrive on driving performance through others, this role offers genuine scope, autonomy and reward.
The Role
Reporting into the senior branch leadership team, you will take full ownership of a large department within a high-turnover flagship branch, leading sizeable teams and playing a critical role in overall branch performance.
Service, availability and commercial standards are the lifeblood of the business and your ability to create engaged, high-performing teams will be central to success.
You will have the platform to influence, improve and innovate within your department, while operating in a business that values pace, common sense and hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Full leadership accountability for a large, multi-function department within a flagship branch
- Driving sales, margin and profit through excellent execution, team capability and customer experience
- Leadership, coaching and development of managers and departmental teams
- Creating a service-led, trade-focused culture with exceptional standards
- Owning departmental KPIs, budgets and commercial performance
- Performance management, succession planning and talent development
- Ensuring a highly commercial, safe and compliant trading environment
- Acting as a senior ambassador for the business within the branch and wider operation
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Store Manager, Branch Manager, Department Manager, Senior Manager, Trading Manager or equivalent within builders’ merchants, trade, or high-volume retail environments
- Comfortable operating at scale within complex, fast-paced operations
- A visible, credible and confident leader who leads from the front
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data and drive performance
- Passionate about customer experience and team engagement
- Resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused
