PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Lead the implementation of sales, marketing and business development initiatives that support the branch's growth and overall business objectives.

  • Champion change management projects, providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to Branch Seniors and the wider team to ensure successful implementation.
  • Develop, implement and continually review branch processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency, consistency and service delivery.
  • Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities, market trends and areas for commercial growth.
  • Work closely with Senior Management to deliver the company's strategic objectives and contribute to the ongoing development of the business.
  • Monitor, analyse and communicate branch performance through regular reporting, ensuring Branch Seniors have the information and support needed to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, operational efficiency and customer outcomes across all areas of the branch.
  • Promote innovation and encourage the team to identify and implement improvements that add value to customers and the business.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a supervisory, branch management or sales management role within the insurance industry.
  • Progress towards, or willingness to work towards, the CII qualification or a recognised leadership or business management qualification.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance broking systems, including Open GI or similar platforms.
  • A thorough understanding of the insurance market, including Personal Lines.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to use management information and reporting tools effectively.
  • Sound understanding of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty and the regulatory framework governing insurance intermediaries.
  • Commercial awareness with a good understanding of the local insurance market and the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
  • A genuine commitment to the company's values and culture, recognising the importance of delivering excellent customer service, supporting colleagues and maintaining strong relationships within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and support the branch team, fostering a positive working environment that promotes high performance, ethical conduct and continuous improvement while ensuring service standards, workflow and business objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain exceptional quality standards across the branch by sharing knowledge, coaching colleagues and promoting best practice to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Monitor customer interactions and business performance through regular quality assurance reviews, audits and call monitoring, ensuring accuracy, professionalism and timely responses.
  • Identify training and development needs within the team, working with senior management to implement appropriate learning opportunities that enhance product knowledge, regulatory understanding and customer service skills.
  • Deliver agreed business objectives by achieving branch sales targets, key performance indicators and profitability goals, while supporting sustainable business growth.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and the secure handling of customer and business information in accordance with company procedures, GDPR and regulatory requirements. Maintain branch compliance with Health & Safety, First Aid and Fire Safety responsibilities.
  • Encourage and act upon feedback from both customers and colleagues, using insights to improve service delivery, processes and the overall customer experience.
  • Monitor branch performance to identify trends, address recurring issues and implement effective solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Identify, manage and escalate any actual or potential conflicts of interest, ensuring they are handled promptly and in line with company policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure the branch operates in full compliance with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, the Financial Services and Markets Act, and all internal policies and procedures, promoting the principles of Treating Customers Fairly in every customer interaction.
  • Maintain high professional standards by ensuring all team members meet the firm's Training and Competence requirements, supporting continuous professional development through regular coaching and engagement with senior management.
