We are recruiting for a Branch Operations Manager to join our thriving Frazer branch in Exeter (EX2 8ND).

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 16:30, 45 hours per week.

As Branch Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the branch, ensuring our warehouse, transport and customer operations run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with the Branch Director, you will lead the team, support our customers and help maintain high standards across the branch.

What you will be doing

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the branch, including warehouse, transport and customer activities.
  • Leading and supporting the warehouse and transport teams, ensuring daily operations are planned and run efficiently.
  • Overseeing customer orders, deliveries and stock management to ensure high levels of service and accuracy.
  • Working closely with the Branch Director on branch performance, reporting and operational improvements.
  • Ensuring high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and compliance across the branch.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service levels and the customer experience.
  • Taking a hands-on approach when required, supporting the wider team across warehouse and transport operations.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience within the civils, infrastructure, utilities, building materials or a related industry is preferred.
  • Experience managing warehouse and transport operations.
  • Previous experience leading and supporting a team, with an inclusive and collaborative leadership style.
  • A strong customer-first approach and genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan and manage competing priorities.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions impact the wider branch and business.
  • A hands-on approach and the willingness to get involved in the day-to-day running of the branch.
  • A positive attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
