Key Responsibilities
- Focus will be on supporting the sales on the shop floor as well as enhancing the customers shopping experience through friendly and welcoming interactions and a baseline knowledge of the products and services that we offer.
- Support the team from an operational standpoint, working on the tills, taking bookings for the Masterclass Programme as well as handling incoming deliveries and restocking the shop floor product storage.
- Maintenance of the store as the historic Twinings flagship premises is of great importance and you'll be required to know the procedures for looking after various elements of the shopfloor and the back of the house such as resalting the dishwashers, and proper care for the mosaic floor.
- Coverage of the shopfloor tea bar and the responsibility of brewing, serving, and explaining the wide array of blends and single origin and estate teas we offer here at the Strand to customers.
- Running the Masterclasses in the bespoke Tasting Room. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
