Role: Brand & Content Executive
Location: Hybrid – Tues, Wed, Thurs in Bristol office
Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (potential for extension/renewal)
Hours: Full-time (although part-time may be considered DOE)
Salary: From £27,000 full-time (DOE)

We’re looking for someone who makes things happen. Someone who can take a concept and turn it into a social post, an email, a web page, a short video – or something we haven’t thought of yet.

You’ll need to be creative, organised and happy working across different types of content. One minute you might be scheduling a social campaign, the next updating a website, building an email in HubSpot, filming on your phone or finding a way to turn a fairly technical subject into something people will actually want to read or watch.

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend all day doing one thing.

You’ll work closely with our Brand & Content lead, who sets the overall messaging, campaign direction and content priorities – and creates a fair amount of the core content too, which you’ll be re-purposing. You’ll also have the support of our Director of Growth & Marketing Operations.

About HBXL

HBXL provides software, services and training for the UK residential construction industry. Our customers are predominantly small and medium-sized building companies working on extensions, loft conversions, renovations and new-build homes.

We help them estimate more accurately, produce drawings, manage projects, stay on top of health & safety and contracts, and develop the skills they need to run better construction businesses.

Where you’ll make an impact

You will be in the thick of our day-to-day marketing.

You’ll help make sure our ideas, campaigns, product launches, expertise and customer stories actually reach the people we want to reach.

That means keeping content moving across social media, email, websites and campaigns; making sure it is created, adapted, scheduled and published properly; and continually looking for ways to get more mileage from the good material we already have.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your current job title matters less to us than what you can do – and how you approach things.

You’ll probably be someone who:

  • Enjoys the creative part and likes getting things finished
  • Is organised, particularly when it comes to scheduling
  • Can write clear, natural copy
  • Has a good creative eye for video, photography and visual content
  • Understands what makes social content interesting enough to stop somebody scrolling
  • Is comfortable having several pieces of work on the go
  • Notices the details and takes pride in getting them right
  • Can take a brief and run with it
  • Is willing to learn new software and digital tools
  • Is curious about how AI can make good marketing faster and more effective
  • Is comfortable working with different personalities and subject experts
  • Is happy being part of a small team where everyone contributes
  • Is interested in the customer, not just the content.

And while you’ll be given plenty of direction, we’d like you to have ideas too. If you see a better way of doing something, say so.

Experience that would be useful

We’re not looking for someone who has already done everything. But experience in the following is desirable:

  • Social media content creation and scheduling
  • Smartphone photography and video
  • Short-form video editing
  • Website CMS editing
  • Canva or similar creative tools
  • Content planning and calendars

Experience in construction isn’t essential. The ability to get interested in construction is.

Show us what you can do

We’d like to see examples of your work – content you’ve been involved with – social posts, short videos, emails, articles, graphics, websites, campaigns and anything else you think shows what you can do.

Tell us what you contributed and, where you can, what happened as a result.

We’re looking for evidence of good judgement, creativity and potential.
