I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The mindset that thrives at Wells
Marketing is constantly evolving and so are we. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, embraces change and enjoys learning.
You don't need to know everything on day one. You do need to be someone who enjoys figuring things out.
We're particularly interested in people who embrace new technology. AI is rapidly changing how great marketing is delivered and we want someone who is excited to explore new tools, continually improve and find smarter ways of working.
Above all else, we're looking for someone who takes ownership. Someone who notices opportunities before they're asked. Someone who sees problems and solves them. Someone who wants to build something exceptional.
Who we're looking for
This role is ideal for a talented graduate or someone in the early stages of their marketing career looking for genuine responsibility from day one.
We're much more interested in potential, attitude and curiosity than years of experience.
You'll probably be someone who:
- Loves creating content people genuinely enjoy consuming
- Has excellent Canva skills and a strong visual eye
- Understands how social media builds brands, not just followers
- Enjoys meeting people and building relationships
- Is confident speaking with designers, suppliers and clients

- Takes pride in producing exceptional work
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment
- Has a genuine "figure it out" mentality
- Wants to continually develop their marketing skills
- Has an interest in interiors, design or architecture
What success looks like
Success won't be measured by how many posts you've scheduled. You'll be successful because you've helped Wells become increasingly recognised throughout the luxury interiors industry.
