Brand & Marketing Lead

Build brands. Measure what matters. Shape the future.

A flexible fractional opportunity for an ambitious marketer.

Data drives decisions. The best marketing does both.

We're looking for a commercially minded marketer who can build outstanding brands, create campaigns people remember, and prove exactly how marketing contributes to business growth.

This isn't a role where marketing simply supports the business. Marketing is one of the drivers of our growth, and you'll work directly with the leadership team to help shape the future of multiple ambitious businesses.

You'll have the freedom to test ideas, challenge convention and influence major decisions, but we expect every decision to be supported by evidence.

About Us

Bishop & Miller Auctioneers is an East Anglian auction business with big ambitions incorporating lean, technology and high standards in customer service. Alongside our established auction business, we're developing exciting new ventures, including Plastic Culture Ltd which only launched in April.

We're building businesses that stand out for the quality of their customer experience, their operational excellence and the strength of their brands.

We're looking for someone who wants to help build businesses, not simply market them.

How We Work

We believe the best businesses are built through experimentation and continuous improvement.

  • No campaign is ever perfect.
  • We test ideas.
  • We measure the results.
  • We learn quickly.
  • Then we improve.

Success isn't about always being right. It's about learning faster than everyone else.

You'll be someone who naturally asks:

  • What worked?
  • What didn't?
  • What have we learnt?
  • What should we try next?

If that sounds like the way you already think, you'll fit in well here.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

You'll lead marketing across multiple businesses, including Bishop & Miller Auctioneers and Plastic Culture.

This is a strategic, hands-on role. You'll be expected to think like a Head of Marketing while still enjoying rolling your sleeves up and making things happen.

You'll shape brand strategy, customer acquisition, events, partnerships, digital and customer experience.

Equally importantly, you'll build the reporting systems that allow us to understand exactly what's working, what's not, and where we should invest next.

We don't want someone who simply produces marketing. We want someone who helps build better businesses.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver marketing strategies across multiple brands.
  • Build distinctive brands that customers recognise and trust.
  • Plan and deliver campaigns across digital, print, email, social media and events.
  • Increase customer acquisition and strengthen customer loyalty.
  • Analyse customer behaviour.
  • Create dashboards that clearly communicate marketing performance.
  • Track key metrics including customer acquisition, repeat business, customer lifetime value, engagement, conversion rates and return on investment.
  • Present findings in a simple, visual and commercially meaningful way.
  • Continually test, measure and improve marketing performance.
  • Help leadership make better commercial decisions through clear marketing insight.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Thinks creatively but makes decisions analytically.
  • Understands that great brands drive commercial success.
  • Can translate complex data into practical business decisions.
  • Enjoys building systems as much as creating campaigns.
  • Challenges assumptions with evidence rather than opinion.
  • Takes ownership and follows ideas through to completion.
  • Gets excited by solving commercial problems, not simply creating content.
  • Can explain marketing performance clearly to people with no marketing background.

Success After 12 Months

You'll know you're succeeding if:

  • Customer acquisition is increasing.
  • More customers are returning.
  • Marketing return on investment is improving.
  • Every campaign has measurable objectives.
  • Our brands are stronger and more recognisable.
  • Leadership can make faster, better decisions because the data is clear.
  • You've built a marketing function that becomes smarter every month.

The Opportunity

This is a flexible fractional role, giving you the freedom to shape your working pattern around delivering exceptional results rather than simply filling hours.

We're interested in outcomes, not presenteeism.

You'll have genuine influence across a growing group of businesses and the opportunity to build a marketing function from the ground up.

As our businesses continue to grow, there is significant opportunity for the role to grow with them.

If you're someone who enjoys making a meaningful impact, building brands and helping ambitious businesses grow, we'd love to hear from you.

Show Us Your Impact

Rather than simply telling us what you've done, show us the difference you made.

Tell us:

  • What problem were you trying to solve?
  • What did you do?
  • How did you measure success?
  • What happened?
  • What did you learn?
  • What would you do differently next time?

We're interested in marketers who can demonstrate measurable commercial impact, not just creative output.

Please send your CV together with examples of campaigns or projects that delivered measurable results, explaining the role you personally played in achieving them.
