Brand Communications Manager
Make Baukjen seen and talked about in the right places.
London-based · Reporting to the Founder & Creative Director
ABOUT BAUKJEN
Strong, modern style for women leading busy lives, made with purpose. Designed in London, responsibly made in Europe, a global top 5 fashion B Corp.
Our ambition is simple: to build Baukjen into a contemporary womenswear brand that women know, talk about and want to wear.
THE ROLE
This is a broader role than traditional fashion PR. You will help build the Baukjen brand externally and internally, making sure we are clear about who we are, what we are talking about and how we show up.
Externally, you build genuine relationships with editors, stylists, journalists, creators and Substack writers, as well as interesting brands across beauty, travel, food, wine and lifestyle. You look for the people, places and partnerships that will introduce Baukjen to the right audiences.
Internally, you are a strong voice for the brand and for fashion. Working closely with the Founder & Creative Director, Design Director, Art Director and teams across the business, you help translate our collections, fashion stories and brand priorities into clear, relevant messaging that travels consistently across our channels.
You are naturally immersed in fashion. You follow the shows, fashion weeks, street style, editors, stylists, creators and the brands doing interesting things. You understand the wider womenswear conversation and bring that knowledge and curiosity into the business.
Your job is to get Baukjen seen, talked about and worn by the right people, while making sure what we say and do always feels like Baukjen.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
BRAND & FASHION
You help shape how Baukjen is presented, inside and outside the business. You translate our brand and fashion priorities into clear messaging and stories for PR, social, email, content and partnerships.
You bring a strong fashion point of view to these conversations: what women are wearing, what is happening in womenswear, which trends matter, what interesting brands are doing and where Baukjen has something relevant to say.
You make sure the teams communicating Baukjen understand the key messages and stories we want to get across.
STORIES THAT TRAVEL
You work closely with our team on each month's key fashion stories, finding the angles and opportunities that will take them beyond our own channels and into the wider fashion conversation. Internally, you work across teams to ensure these stories are reflected consistently across our brand channels.
FASHION RELATIONSHIPS
You build and nurture relationships across the fashion ecosystem: editors, stylists, journalists, creators, Substack writers, podcasters and other relevant voices.
You know who matters, who feels right for Baukjen and who we should be building relationships with.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You help put Baukjen on women whose endorsement carries genuine credibility: architects, lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, authors, TV presenters and other interesting women leading busy lives.
At its heart is the Baukjen Women programme: ten to twelve women we want to know and work with over the long term. You find the right women and build those relationships, while Customer Services supports the logistics.
Alongside this, you manage selective celebrity and VIP gifting, making sure we reach the right people at the right moment.
THE FUNDAMENTALS, DONE PROPERLY
The fundamentals matter. You create strong lookbooks and press releases, build relationships with fashion journalists across print and digital, arrange regular stylist meetings and seasonal previews, and make sure samples are in the right hands at the right time.
PARTNERSHIPS
You find and develop collaborations with brands that feel right for Baukjen, from beauty and sunglasses to travel, hotels, food, wine, art and the wider lifestyle world. You are always on the lookout for brands we could do something interesting with: a product collaboration, content, an event, an experience or a simple idea that brings our audiences together.
You understand the creator and affiliate landscape and have a strong point of view on where Baukjen should be, particularly from a fashion and brand perspective. You keep on top of platforms such as Shopify Collabs, LTK and ShopMy, know which creators are relevant and emerging, and work closely with our Head of Marketing, who brings the marketing and commercial perspective, to decide where we should focus our time and budget. You build relationships with the right creators and affiliate partners, balancing brand fit with commercial results.
RETAIL PARTNERS
You work with our retail team to identify opportunities for Baukjen, from joint editorial and in-store moments to shopping events and other collaborations.
THE FOUNDERS
You support the public profiles of our founders. For Baukjen, that means finding the right events, conversations, partnerships and opportunities to represent the brand and meet interesting women and complementary brands. You will also organise Baukjen Hosts: dinners every two months at Baukjen's home for around ten interesting women from different industries who we think would enjoy meeting one another. For Geoff, our CEO, you help identify the right opportunities around business, sustainability and impact.
INTERNATIONAL
Your primary focus is the UK but you will be a supporting team member in international communications activity where appropriate alongside our local teams and partners.
WHO YOU ARE
You may come from fashion PR, brand communications, content or brand marketing. The exact route matters less than having good fashion instincts, understanding brands, being a strong communicator and getting things done. Attitude matters enormously: you are positive, curious, sleeves-up and keen to make things happen.

YOU LOVE FASHION & CULTURE
You need to genuinely love fashion. You follow what is happening in womenswear, from the shows and fashion weeks to street style, editors, stylists, creators and brands doing something new.
Your interests should go wider too. You are naturally curious about beauty, travel, food, restaurants, wine, art and the wider lifestyle world. You notice a new restaurant, an interesting hotel, a beauty launch or a great collaboration and think about whether there could be a connection with Baukjen.
YOU UNDERSTAND BRANDS
You love brands and are interested in what makes some of them really take off. You notice how good brands communicate, who they collaborate with and what makes them distinctive.
You can take an idea and work out how it should come through in our messaging, content, partnerships and PR.
ENERGISED BY PEOPLE
You enjoy meeting people and building genuine relationships. You're happy at openings, previews, lunches and events, and equally comfortable picking up the phone and introducing yourself to someone you think Baukjen should know.
YOU MAKE THINGS HAPPEN
You're proactive and good at getting things done. If you spot an opportunity, you pick up the phone, follow it up and make it happen, working with colleagues, agencies, freelancers and external partners when needed.
A NATURAL COMMUNICATOR
You are a very good writer and a clear communicator. You can adapt a story for different audiences, represent Baukjen confidently outside the business and explain ideas clearly to teams internally.
COLLABORATIVE AND CONFIDENT
You enjoy working across teams and can bring people with you. You have a point of view, are comfortable giving clear direction when needed and care about the work feeling right for Baukjen.
ORGANISED AND HANDS-ON
You can manage multiple conversations, samples, events, deadlines and opportunities without losing sight of the details. You're as comfortable getting something done yourself as you are coordinating others.
