Shape the Voice and Visual Identity of London Local Government

London Councils is the collective of London's 32 boroughs and the City of London Corporation. We work on behalf of London local government to make London a fairer, more sustainable, and more prosperous city.

We're looking for an outstanding Brand, Content and Design Lead to become the guardian of our brand and lead the development of compelling, high-quality content that conveys the vital role of London local government in the lives of citizens.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic communications professional who combines excellent design judgment with strong editorial skills and a passion for innovation. You'll oversee our visual identity, tone of voice, and content standards, ensuring everything we produce is engaging, accessible, and impactful.

You'll also play a key role in helping London Councils embrace new digital approaches, including the effective use of emerging AI tools to improve how we communicate with boroughs, partners, stakeholders, and Londoners.

Role Responsibility

As Brand, Content and Design Lead, you will act as London Councils' brand guardian, ensuring consistency and quality across all communications channels and products.

Working with the rest of the Communications and Public Affairs team and across the organisation, you will commission and produce a wide range of content, from video and graphics to publications, digital campaigns, and social media assets. You will provide expert advice on brand, messaging, and presentation, helping colleagues communicate complex policy and programme work in engaging, persuasive, and accessible ways.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
