ABOUT HASH
At HASH, we’re building open-source infrastructure to solve information failure and help everybody make the right decisions. Our platform helps firms integrate structured and unstructured information into knowledge graphs that support simulating, optimizing and automating processes.
We’re building towards world models from a different starting point from most AI labs: typed, temporal representations of real systems and the processes that change them. Our founders include Joel Spolsky, who founded Stack Overflow and Trello; Jude Allred, formerly CTO of Glitch; and Dei Vilkinsons, formerly CEO of Soho Strategy.
ABOUT THE ROLE
HASH works on ideas that are powerful but not always simple: knowledge graphs, processes that change through time, simulations, interventions, operational decisions and new approaches to AI. We’re hiring a senior Brand Designer who can make those ideas clear, persuasive and unmistakably HASH.
You will own the visual expression of HASH across sales and marketing communications: decks, diagrams, illustrations, editorial graphics, email, social campaigns, case studies, reports and selected web work.
- Some assignments will begin with a good brief. Others will begin with a dense technical document, a rough founder deck or a seller saying, “I need this company to understand why their process can be modelled.” You will need to find the structure, challenge what is unclear and produce an answer that communicates rather than decorates. You will be responsible both for high-craft work and for the templates and systems that let the rest of the company move quickly without diluting the brand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

REQUIREMENTS
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional typography, layout, hierarchy and visual storytelling
- Strong examples of persuasive presentations and editorial or campaign systems, not only identities and logos
- The ability to turn a complicated technical idea into an original diagram or illustration that genuinely improves understanding
- Systems thinking: you build reusable components and templates, while knowing when an important moment deserves something bespoke
- Speed, organization and comfort shipping through multiple review cycles without losing the central idea
- The ability to work directly with founders, sellers, marketers and engineers, extract what matters and challenge an overloaded or incoherent brief
- Curiosity about AI, graphs, simulation and complex enterprise systems, and the willingness to understand what you are depicting
- The judgment to art-direct yourself and produce excellent work without waiting for a creative director
Experience in brand or communications design for enterprise technology, AI, data infrastructure, developer tools or scientific organizations is particularly relevant. So is information design, technical illustration, data visualization, motion, or building presentation systems in Figma, Google Slides or PowerPoint.
This is not primarily a product-design role. Experience with digital products is helpful, but your main responsibility will be how HASH communicates outside the product.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and continuously improve HASH’s core company, sales, pilot and research decks
- Turn complex product and process concepts into clear diagrams, illustrations and visual narratives
- Create distinctive editorial graphics for blog posts, newsletters, social media, case studies and reports
- Build campaign and launch systems that work coherently across several formats
- Produce one-pagers, leave-behinds and account-specific sales collateral under real deadlines
- Establish modular templates and components that non-designers can use safely
- Extend HASH’s visual language across typography, layout, illustration, diagrams, data visualization, screenshots, motion and generated imagery
- Maintain organized source files, libraries and practical guidance so work remains reusable
- Collaborate with technical experts to make sure diagrams are accurate, not merely plausible
- Work with Marketing on briefs and priorities and with Sales on the communication obstacles in live deals
- Raise the quality bar while preserving speed
