Our Client
Our client is a global health and life insurer with an international footprint spanning the UK, North America and strategic partnerships across Europe and Asia. The brand has grown quickly over the past decade, and as the business scales, its strategy now needs a full-time senior owner.
The brand has been built by a small, senior team over the past decade, growing recognition to a level now ahead of the category average in a fraction of the time anyone expected. As the business scales, they're looking for a Director of Brand to take that on full-time, reporting directly into the Group Chief Marketing Officer and inheriting a strategy and set of brand guidelines that are already in strong shape, with real room to bring fresh thinking rather than execute someone else's plan.
The Role
- Own the global brand strategy; positioning, tone of voice and visual identity, and ensure it's applied consistently across owned markets and a growing network of international partner insurers.
- Lead the in-house team directly, with the Head of Social and Head of Content reporting into you, while also carrying the sponsorship activation portfolio.
- Direct integrated advertising campaigns across digital, broadcast, out-of-home and emerging channels, overseeing agency and media partnerships to keep creative sharp and spend accountable.
- Shape the content strategy and storytelling that bring the brand to life, from long-form thought leadership through to fast-moving social formats.
- Own the global sponsorship and partnership strategy, identifying and negotiating deals that build brand equity and deliver a measurable return.
- Partner with local marketing teams across international markets to package and adapt brand activity for their audiences, influencing rather than dictating from the centre.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Bring
- Senior brand leadership experience gained across a genuinely diverse, complex portfolio, this isn't a role for someone who's only ever run a single-market brand.
- Real global exposure, not just a UK remit with an international job title.
- Executive-level gravitas, the credibility to work directly with boards and CEOs, and to hold your own without leaning on formal authority.
- A track record building brand relevance across both B2B and B2C audiences.
- Comfort in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment rather than a large corporate structure, this is a business that rolls its sleeves up, not one with layers of process to hide behind.
- Confidence using AI as part of a modern marketing operation, balanced with the judgement to know when a decision still needs a human hand on it.
- Sector experience in health, life or general insurance isn't required, what matters far more is seniority, breadth across complex markets and cultural fit.
