Brand Excellence Consultant

We’re looking for a Brand Excellence Consultant to join our Group Brand and Marketing team. If you’re looking for a new challenge with an organisation committed to putting customers first, aiming high and working together, you’ll thrive here.

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract - 23 months

Location: Hybrid role based in Edinburgh

Salary and benefits: £25,000 plus an indicative bonus range of 8-16% private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The Role

This role will work effectively across Group Brand & Marketing and Corporate Affairs & Brand contributing to an increasingly integrated operating model with shared priorities, connected workflows and clear interfaces. To support the Senior Marketing Planning Lead in delivering an effective and integrated marketing planning function, as well as broader support to the wider Marketing Excellence area. The role sits in the Planning function, which is part of Marketing Excellence – a team that collaborates widely across the organisation and requires the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across Group Brand & Marketing (GB&M) and the Channel Marketing teams. Working within a supportive and collaborative team culture, the role provides the opportunity to develop core marketing skills and gain invaluable experience across a number of disciplines, for a future career in marketing, whilst bringing their business / marketing experience to the role to maintain robust operational planning and apply continuous improvement principles to ensure we remain an effective team.

As part of the role, you will follow brand, compliance and quality standards. You will be confident applying brand governance and regulatory requirements to ensure all outputs align with Group standards and support consistent, high quality brand execution.

You will also be supported in obtaining a formal qualification in Marketing.

What We’re Looking For

  • Basic understanding of marketing and strategic planning principles. Able to demonstrate awareness of how brand, planning, insight, MarTech and marketing activity connect within a wider marketing system.
  • Good communication and relationship building skills. Comfortable working with colleagues across Corporate Affairs & Brand, Group Brand & Marketing, Channel Marketing and other teams to contribute effectively to collaborative, cross functional projects.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Able to support the upkeep, coordination and governance of the marketing plan, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and contribute to improving operational efficiency.
  • Comfortable using or exploring AI-enabled tools and a willingness to learn to enhance content planning, social analytics and productivity, ensuring outputs meet brand, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Curiosity, initiative and a growth mindset. Shows enthusiasm for developing strategic, operational and professional skills through hands on experience, feedback and rotational opportunities across the marketing function.
  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Brand, Marketing or a related discipline is preferable.
  • Some experience of working in a professional or office environment (for example through a placement, internship or part-time role) would be beneficial
  • Some experience of using MS Office applications such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel to create reports and presentations
