Salary £55,000
About the Role
We are looking for a high-agency Brand & Graphic Designer to steward and execute our visual identity across public channels. You will sit within the Product, Technology and Communications team, reporting directly to the Director of Communications & Marketing.
Your role is instrumental in helping us create high-stakes marketing collateral to different audiences, improve and iterate on our website, and storytell over LinkedIn and newsletters. This is a role for a designer who loves the golden ratio, Bauhaus and details—typography, information hierarchy, and visual clarity. You’ll be able to spar and partner with our in-house UX/UI designer to make sure the visual identities in our internal products remain within a shared universe (recognizable to our members whether they are logged in or not), but you’ll be mainly responsible for our external ‘face’.
What You’ll Do
- Shape and Evolve the Brand Visuals
We have an established core brand system, but we need someone with exceptional taste and craft to take it to the next level and apply it across our most visible channels. This includes consistently creating new assets in a fitting and iterated style.
You’ll act as the guardian of our public-facing visual identity. Maintain and evolve an organized design system, Figma libraries, and master templates to ensure efficiency and consistency as we grow.
- Bring Polish to a Range of Different Brand Assets
You’ll need to be as comfortable creating illustrations from scratch as you are laying out a wireframe for a new webpage. You’ll understand the difference in touch needed for a one-pager that gets shared as a PDF versus a bar chart that accompanies our annual reports.
We have a variety of audiences, and we often need to communicate the same info in different ways, for example when talking about the impact of a donation, we need to make a quick-to-read social media graphic, and also a technical chart to accompany a deep dive write up of a grant.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Much of our marketing collateral (think digital brochures, reports and decks) is text and data heavy. We’re looking for someone with mastery of typography to make these materials beautiful and legible.
- Own Production From Concept to Delivery
Take work from a brief through to final output. You’ll ensure assets are technically precise and optimized for their context. You will partner daily with the Communications & Marketing team to make sure design supports and brings to life the story as it’s intended through great information flow, impactful visuals and consistency that elevates brand recognition.

Enhance Key Channels:
- Web & Digital: Design and evolve landing pages and create digital assets that align with our product storytelling.
- Email: Partner with internal stakeholders around the visual execution of our email communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and brand integrity.
- Various Marketing Collateral: Design decks that land and high-quality PDFs (think case studies, one-pagers) that clearly communicate our vision to partners and clients. You love to pull together a good diagram or graph.
- Social Media: Produce compelling visual content for our social channels, from refined static assets to short-form motion.
- Collaborate Across Teams: In addition to the Communications & Marketing team, work closely with Growth, Advisory, Events, Research and Fundraising as needed to translate their ideas into clear, compelling visual narratives. You’ll liaise with the Product Managers and UX/UI designer to make sure cross-channel campaigns carry through a succinct visual in all media.
About You
You have exceptional design judgment and care deeply about layout, composition, and execution. You understand that strong design often comes from restraint and structure rather than decoration.
You are comfortable managing your own workflow and priorities. You are motivated by responsibility and take pride in delivering excellent work without needing constant oversight.
You move clearly from brief to exploration to execution. You can articulate your thinking and show how your work solves communication problems, not just aesthetic ones.
You move confidently between different digital surfaces and visual challenges (text-forward vs illustration-led).
You’re creative and can find several solutions when faced with pushback or limitations of the medium.
You’re a pro-active communicator and care about a great atmosphere at work as well as your craft.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: ~3–5 years of professional graphic/visual design experience (in-house or agency).
- Confident in designing visual assets and a native at imagining how to create them within the limitations of the different media (website, email, PDF, social etc.).
- Technical:
- Adobe: Expert in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience in Premiere or After Effects is a plus.
- Figma: Highly confident using Figma for collaborative digital design and maintaining libraries.
- Presentation Design: Skilled in crafting visually sharp presentations (Google Slides preferred).
- Website wireframing - not expected to be a fully fledged UX designer, but basic capability of speaking that language is preferred.
- Nice-to-have: Basic understanding of HTML and CSS, basic video editing skills and ability to draw illustrations.
- Previous experience in data visualization and/or infographics strongly preferred.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating real-world business use cases, especially text-heavy materials, and a range of work across web, illustrative work and social.
