Working Environment and Location

This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite one day per Month in Surrey, Addlestone office and travel may be needed up to 20% of the time. Purpose and Scope

The Brand Insights Expert - A7317 will provide integrated market research, market and competitive intelligence, strategic analytics and forecasting leadership for A7317. The role will support global cross-functional decision-making and launch readiness by developing a robust understanding of advanced geographic atrophy, the evolving treatment landscape, the eligible patient opportunity and the requirements for successful delivery of a one-time subretinal cell therapy. The role will serve as a thought partner and strategic consultant to the A7317 Value Team and will collaborate closely with Global Brand Strategy and Marketing, New Product Planning, Development, Medical, Market Access, Finance, Manufacturing and regional and local teams to ensure global alignment, evidence-based assumptions and clear recommendations

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead global insights activities for A7317 and provide forward-looking perspectives on markets, competitors, customers and patients to strengthen product development, investment and commercialization decisions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of advanced geographic atrophy, including epidemiology, patient segmentation, diagnosis and referral pathways, clinical endpoints, unmet needs, market access challenges and the evolving competitive landscape.
  • Partner with the A7317 Value Team to identify critical information needs and lead integrated primary and secondary market research plans, research execution, synthesis and communication of actionable insights.
  • Generate insights on A7317 positioning and value proposition, including the influence of functional improvement, structural outcomes, durability, safety and quality-of-life evidence on adoption.
  • Assess the end-to-end treatment ecosystem for a one-time subretinal cell therapy, including retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon roles, treatment-center readiness, operating-room capacity, patient referral, co-management pathways and patient support needs.
  • Evaluate commercialization requirements and adoption barriers related to reimbursement, site economics, cryogenic storage, product handling, just-in-time delivery, supply-chain readiness and treatment-center activation.

  • Develop requests for proposals, solicit competitive bids, award contracts to external market research agencies, manage delivery and review partner performance against scope, timelines and budget.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Izervay team to prepare, test and align assumptions and inputs for global patient-based forecasts, including scenarios and sensitivities for eligible population, uptake, share, pricing, access, site activation, surgical capacity and supply constraints.
  • Synthesize market intelligence, competitive intelligence, research and forecast insights into concrete business scenarios, risks, opportunities and recommendations for cross-functional and governance decisions.
  • Prioritize resources and projects to provide timely, efficient insights support and enable pre-launch commercial and ecosystem readiness for A7317.

Essential Qualifications

  • Substantial years' of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, or a biopharmaceutical consultancy, with broad experience in pipeline strategy, market research, strategic forecasting, competitive intelligence, commercial analytics or related fields.
  • Experience identifying, evaluating and integrating primary and secondary data sources to provide objective understanding of markets, patients, customers, competitors and product opportunities.
  • Strong experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and in managing complex research programs and external partners.
  • Experience supporting development-stage assets, investment decisions and/or launch preparation in a global environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of R&D, new product planning, forecasting and commercialization investment decisions.
  • Ability to define and structure complex business questions from scientific, clinical, patient, commercial, operational and access perspectives.
  • Experience using market research, secondary analysis, competitive intelligence, analogues and forecasting methodologies to inform strategy and investments when data may be limited.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, regions and cultures and communicate clearly across scientific, clinical, medical, manufacturing and commercial teams.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MBA, MS or PhD.
  • Ophthalmology, retina or geographic atrophy experience.
  • Experience in cell therapy, gene therapy, regenerative medicine or another advanced-therapy treatment ecosystem.
  • Experience with global patient-flow forecasting, site-of-care analysis, capacity modelling, market access research or launch-readiness assessment.
  • Experience working on global, cross-functional teams.
  • Biopharma consulting experience or an undergraduate/advanced degree in mathematics or science.
