A company in the Japanese food industry is hiring for a Brand Manager – NPD Focus position. The organisation brings authentic, high-quality products to both B2B and B2C markets and is committed to delivering quality, authenticity, and strong market relevance. This role offers the chance to play a central part in shaping future products, working closely with international suppliers and cross-functional teams in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end new product development from initial concept through to market launch.
  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers, packaging design partners, and internal technical and purchasing teams to deliver projects smoothly.
  • Manage packaging design for both new and existing products, ensuring brand consistency and quality standards.
  • Identify market insights and opportunities, generate new product ideas, and turn them into viable launches through cross-team collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with agencies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to keep projects on track.
  • Handle administrative and organisational tasks such as product audits, websites, samples, and accurate filing.
  • Support wider marketing activities as needed to meet team and business goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in brand management, project management, product management, or new product development, with food sector exposure preferred.
  • Confidence managing end-to-end projects and coordinating with external suppliers.
  • Strong interest in Japanese food, cooking, and product quality and authenticity.
  • Comfortable working within Japanese corporate culture, with a respectful, detail-focused, and collaborative approach.
  • Independent, proactive, organised, and commercially aware.
  • Positive, flexible, and able to work across internal teams, virtual colleagues, and external partners.
  • Japanese language skills are a plus.
