Brand Marketing Manager - 12-month fixed term maternity leave contract - Location: York

Are you an ambitious marketing professional with a passion for brands, visitor experiences, and commercial growth? Then join us and help us shape the future of two iconic visitor attractions!

We're looking for an experienced Brand Marketing Manager to develop and deliver the marketing strategy and performance of two of the UK's most unique visitor attractions: York's Chocolate Story and Oxford Castle Prison. You will be based in York with regular travel to both attractions.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the development of two established brands during an exciting period of transformation. Over the next 12 months, you'll manage significant brand development projects, including proposition development, brand positioning, visual identity implementation, and launch planning, helping to strengthen market presence, enhance visitor experiences, and deliver sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Brand & Marketing Director and attraction and central teams.
  • Drive end-to-end marketing performance across both sites.
  • Balance commercial objectives with exceptional brand delivery.
  • Develop and deliver marketing strategies that drive visitor growth, revenue, and brand awareness.
  • Create and deliver integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Lead two marketing executives who will support content, community engagement, campaigns, and events across the two sites.
  • Lead major brand development and repositioning projects across both attractions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
