WE ARE BBC STUDIOS
A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought-after TV, audio, and digital content. Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world. BBC Studios Digital don’t just reach audiences - we move them. As an award-winning department, we cultivate and amplify fandoms behind some of the world’s most iconic franchises, including Bluey, BBC Earth, Doctor Who, and Gen-Z comedy channel Funny Parts. We run over 90 channels generating 15 billion views each year, encouraging audiences to watch wherever and whenever they choose.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This is a front-line commercial role with a clear mandate: grow branded content revenue by turning the strength of BBC Studios’ premium IP, global fandoms, and creative capabilities into partnerships that brands and agencies want to buy.
We are looking for a commercial storyteller and a disciplined closer in equal measure: able to sell with authority, collaborate with creative and editorial teams, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and keep close grip on pipeline, pricing, forecasting, and delivery.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
Reporting to the Group Sales Director, you will own a personal revenue target and lead the pursuit of high-value branded content opportunities across an allocated portfolio of agencies and clients. You will build senior relationships, unlock briefs, shape bold multi-platform ideas, and convert them into profitable, repeatable business.
Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Take direct accountability for your individual target, building a strong pipeline, and converting opportunities into profitable revenue. Maintain clear pace, coverage, and momentum against plan.
- Build a high-impact growth plan, in partnership with the Group Sales Director (and your counterpart in Partner Sales), create and execute strategic account plans for priority agencies, clients, and markets - identifying whitespace, growth sectors, new-budget opportunities, and routes to multi-year partnership.
- Use audience insight, market intelligence, and the distinctive power of BBC Studios brands and fandoms to originate compelling partnership opportunities before a formal brief exists. You have a wealth of IP from superstars such as Bluey to new and emerging IP.
- Lead the sales process from first conversation to signed contract: interrogating client challenges, shaping the commercial proposition, collaborating with Creative Solutions on the response, pricing confidently, negotiating effectively, and closing decisively.
- Build senior client and agency relationships, developing trusted, influential relationships across agency leadership, strategy, investment, and partnerships teams, as well as senior client marketers. Become known as a partner who brings both commercial clarity and standout ideas.
- Translate our premium IP, talent, social channels, digital reach, and creative expertise into brand solutions that feel distinctive, audience-first, and genuinely valuable - while respecting editorial and brand guardrails.
- Create repeatable, scalable revenue: Look beyond one-off campaigns. Build sponsorships, partnership platforms, and multi-market solutions that can grow across audiences, territories, formats, and time.
- Where the role includes direct reports or market representatives, set clear priorities, coach for performance, and create a high-energy, accountable sales culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
