Hotel Cook – MOXY Edinburgh Fountainbridge
This position is based on a full-time contract.
Gross Salary: £26,299 per year
How exciting would it be to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment preparing the food for our guests and ensuring they leave with a great all-round experience?
We are looking for someone to work in our kitchen operation at Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge. We are a busy hotel where guests are looking for quick but nutritious meals.
You don’t need to be a chef but you do need to have a passion for food, be organized, and be able to work under pressure.
Experience of Merry chefs would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Prepare food using Merry chefs
- Present food in line with brand standards
- Preparation, set-up, service, clean up, and restocking of the appropriate prep areas of food
- Placing food orders and ensure food cost is in line with budgets
- Restock, take deliveries, plan orders, and organise BOH areas
- Cleanliness of the kitchen area
- Full ownership of FIFO system (first in first out) of food items
- Follow all food safety policies to work safely
- Food handling according to HACCP regulations (product rotation, temperature maintenance and record keeping, storage procedures, etc.)
- A positive attitude and ability to create a buzz in the kitchen
