Breakfast at the Lake House sets the tone for the entire guest experience — calm, elegant, and quietly exceptional. As Breakfast Chef de Partie, you’ll lead the morning service, create beautiful afternoon teas, and support exclusive private events. This role blends technical skill with creativity, consistency, and a deep appreciation for ingredient-led cooking.

You’ll work independently during breakfast service, collaborate closely with the Lake House team, and ensure every dish reflects Gilpin’s signature calm, order, and understated luxury.

🍰 Your Role as Breakfast Chef De Partie

  • Leads the morning service with calm confidence, preparing and presenting elegant breakfast dishes that feel refined, seasonal, and beautifully executed.
  • Creates delicate afternoon teas featuring patisserie, savouries, and thoughtful finishing touches that elevate the guest experience.
  • Supports bespoke menus for Lake House exclusives, celebrations, and intimate gatherings, delivering dishes with precision and quiet professionalism.
  • Manages the flow of breakfast service, afternoon tea preparation, mise en place, and event support, ensuring seamless transitions and immaculate presentation.
  • Refines every detail - from flavour balance, plating, temperature, timing, and ingredient quality to ensure each dish meets Gilpin’s luxury expectations.
  • Works closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B to support guest movements, exclusives, and smooth operations across the Lake House.
  • Demonstrates strong technical skills, supports junior team members when required, and maintains consistency across all dishes and services.
  • Upholds the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen organisation, ensuring a calm, clean, and efficient working environment.

  • Proven experience within a fine-dining or high-end kitchen environment.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • Confidence working independently during breakfast service.
  • Strong technical skills across hot breakfast, patisserie, and refined finishing.
  • A calm, professional presence and positive attitude.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and strong organisational skills.
  • A passion for seasonal, ingredient-led cooking.
  • A willingness to embrace a varied role across breakfast, afternoon tea, and exclusives.

Salary: £34,060 per year

Gratuities: £351 per month (average)
