Full-Time Position (40 hours) - £30k per annum plus service charge
Your country home away from home, nestled within 12 acres of picturesque Hertfordshire countryside. Sopwell House is a five-star luxurious, family-owned Georgian country house hotel offering timeless elegance and modern comfort. We’re proud to be a place where exceptional service is delivered with warmth, pride, and purpose. We’re currently looking for a passionate Breakfast Chef to join our dedicated kitchen teams.
Your role in our family:
- Work with an incredible team who provide our guests with unforgettable cuisine
- Be responsible for ensuring that all food items are prepared and presented to deliver an excellent guest experience while assisting with food cost controls
- Prepare and present high-quality breakfast dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained throughout service
- Ensure breakfast offerings are fully stocked, replenished, and presented to the highest standards
- Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

What would make you the perfect fit?
- Diploma or degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts or related major; NVQ Level 2 or 3 in professional cookery is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Breakfast Chef, Demi Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, or similar role within a high-end hotel, restaurant, or luxury hospitality environment
- Solid understanding of excellence in customer service, preferably gained in a 5-star or luxury hospitality setting
- Solid understanding of modern and classical cooking techniques, with the ability to execute a diverse range of dishes to a consistent level.
- Skilled in preparing a wide range of breakfast dishes.
- A positive, team-focused attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional breakfast experiences in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

We may be able to provide Skilled Worker sponsorship for chefs who are already living in the UK and who were first granted permission under the Skilled Worker route before 22 July 2025, provided they have held continuous Skilled Worker permission since that date.
