Job Description

🌟 WE’RE HIRING! CHILDCARE ACTIVITY LEADER 🌟

Breakfast Club & After School Wraparound

📍 Location: Harnham CofE Junior School, Harnham, Salisbury, SP2 8JZ

💷 Pay: £8.00–£12.75 per hour

📅 Contract: Term Time Only

⏰ Hours: 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday

🌅 Breakfast Club: 7:30am–8:30am

🌈 After School Club: 3:15pm–6:00pm

☀️ Additional Holiday Club Hours: Available during school holidays, 8:30am–5:30pm

At Junior Adventures Group, we’re not just childcare – we’re champions of fun! From football to face painting, scavenger hunts to snack time, you’ll bring smiles, laughter and energy to our Breakfast & After School Clubs, supporting children aged 4–11.

What are the hours?

This is a Term Time Only contract, working 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday:

🌅 Breakfast Club: 7:30am–8:30am

🌈 After School Club: 3:15pm–6:00pm

The split-shift pattern means you’ll have a break between your morning and afternoon sessions – perfect for studying, family time, hobbies or simply having some time to yourself!

☀️ Want to work more hours?

There is also the option to work additional hours during school holidays through our Holiday Clubs.

Holiday Club hours run from 8:30am–5:30pm, giving you the opportunity to increase your hours and earnings during the school holidays if you wish.

What will you be doing?

As a Childcare Activity Leader, you’ll help create exciting, safe and memorable experiences for children every day.

Your role will include:

  • ⚽ Delivering exciting, age-appropriate activities including multi-sports, arts & crafts, group games and creative play
  • 🎨 Setting up engaging play spaces and helping to keep them safe, clean and welcoming
  • 💛 Supervising children with care, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • 🌈 Making sure every child feels welcome, included and supported
  • 🍎 Preparing snacks and supporting mealtimes
  • 📝 Managing sign-in and sign-out processes
  • 🤝 Working as part of a fantastic team while being confident taking the lead when needed
  • 😄 Most importantly, bringing plenty of energy, enthusiasm and fun!

What are we looking for?

You don’t necessarily need a childcare qualification or years of experience – personality, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for working with children go a long way!

We’re looking for someone who:

  • 💛 Loves working with children
  • 🌟 Has a positive, can-do attitude
  • 🎨 Is creative and enjoys coming up with fun ideas
  • 🤝 Is a great team player
  • 🗣️ Is confident communicating with children and colleagues
  • ⚽ Enjoys being active and getting involved
  • 👏 Is confident running activities and managing a group of children

Experience in teaching, coaching, childcare, youth work or similar would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.
