Our approach to diversity in the workplace, health & wellbeing, sustainability and individuality sets us apart from our competitors and is one of the reasons we are rated Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality! OUR HOTEL

The Met Hotel Leeds is more than a stay, it’s a statement. We’re in the middle of a bold transformation, turning a grand old icon into a space full of character, style, and energy. And while we love a lie-in now and then, we know that for many of our guests, breakfast is the main event.

We’re looking for a Breakfast Host who brings energy, warmth, and a proper good morning. Someone who knows that the first conversation of the day can set the tone and who’s happy to bring the sunshine, even if the Yorkshire skies aren’t playing ball.

If you're a morning person with charm, confidence, and a natural gift for hosting, we want you at the front of the house, turning morning routines into memorable moments.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BREAKFAST HOST AT THE MET HOTEL, LEEDS

You’re the first face our guests see when they stumble down for coffee or bound in after an early gym session, and how you greet them matters. Whether it’s remembering a regular’s name or recommending the best spot by the window, your goal is simple: make everyone feel at home.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the tone with friendly conversation especially with regulars who love a familiar face
  • Manage seating smoothly, balancing reservations and walk-ins to keep things flowing
  • Ensure the breakfast area is prepped and guest-ready; from table settings and condiments to lighting, music, and general ambiance
  • Keep the buffet clean, stocked, and visually appealing throughout service
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently, maintain service stations, and ensure supplies are consistently topped up to keep the flow of service seamless
  • Respond to guest questions, offer recommendations, and communicate dietary needs to the kitchen clearly
  • Help with closing tasks; tidying the restaurant, restocking, and resetting for the next day
  • Keep all guest-facing areas clean and sharp because a polished space reflects a polished team
  • And, of course, keep the energy high even if the guests haven’t had their first coffee yet

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
