A MORNING IN THE LIFE OF A BREAKFAST SUPERVISOR AT OUR HOTEL

  • With a warm smile, greet your team and then any early risers within the Hotel creating a positive start to their day from the moment they enter the breakfast area.
  • You will be supporting the Breakfast Manager in overseeing the delivery of the Breakfast and Lunchtime operations, leading the team in the absence of the Breakfast Manager, and working harmoniously with other Supervisors, Managers, Chefs, and Team members.
  • Shift times and days of work vary. This role is 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7, on-site, therefore full flexibility is required in this full-time role.
  • To have full awareness of reporting and Hotel occupancy. Reassess priorities throughout the shift and work alongside the team to ensure consistency in service delivery, efficient activities, and 5* standards.
  • To support the Breakfast Manager and team in the set up and continued standard of presentation within the dining area. Ensure team adhere to the continuity of mise en place, breakfast buffet, and dining / bar area to ensure a fresh, inviting presentation and seamless guest experience.
  • Support with the set up and operation of events ensuring that the team are fully briefed on event function sheets and that guest expectations are met.
  • To excel in and to deliver service standards to 5* luxury hospitality level. Oversee service standards of the team and communicate team development opportunities to the Breakfast Manager.
  • To assist the team during breakfast / lunch / events whilst maintaining sight of the wider Food and Beverage Operation, communicating to and liaising with the Breakfast Manager.
  • To ensure the completion of training and compliance as directed by the Breakfast Manager, F&B Operations Manager, or Senior Management Team.
  • To have a strong understanding of cash control, stock control, POS Systems, and to maintain SOPs.
  • Have responsibility in supporting the HR function and HR systems inclusive of staff management, team engagement, and both awareness of and compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain H&S and Food Hygiene standards including cleanliness in all breakfast areas, from the buffet to guest tables.
  • To ensure readiness of / assist with the kitchen prep and basic food handling tasks, ensuring the kitchen team has everything ready for a smooth breakfast service.
  • Be available for guest questions and team queries, offering your expertise, applying best practice, and offering local knowledge and recommendations to help guests make the most of their day.

What we need from you:

  • Experience in Hospitality Management. Particularly in managing a busy team, busy service, and high volume of F&B covers whilst maintaining a high service level.
  • To be highly communicative and transparent with all Management and Senior Management.
  • To adopt a friendly, approachable, and positive attitude with a passion for making mornings special for guests and in motivating your team to deliver excellence as a standard.
  • To demonstrate leadership skills, proactivity, and a strong teamwork ethic.
  • Great attention to detail to keeping areas looking fresh, organised, and appetising whilst proactively assisting in management of the team.
  • Strong time management and people management skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset, ready to work closely and communicatively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver a smooth breakfast experience.
  • Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to handle early morning shifts and adapt to changing guest needs.
  • High standards of cleanliness and hygiene to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests.
