Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting DHS networks and systems from cyber threats. You will monitor network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, and implement security measures to prevent and respond to security incidents. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security and make a real impact.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network security alerts and events using various security tools.
- Analyze security incidents and develop response strategies.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Implement and maintain security controls and technologies.
- Develop and update security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure the security of DHS systems.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on cybersecurity best practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in computer network defense or cybersecurity.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and network security principles.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus software.
- Knowledge of common attack vectors and threat landscape.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CEH).
- Experience with cloud security concepts.
