Job Title: Breast Cancer CNS, Band 7

Location: 142 -146 Harley Street, London
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional four long days depending on clinic requirements.
Salary: £53,931 - £64,710 per annum

A breast cancer diagnosis can change everything in a moment. As our Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert guidance, compassionate support and continuity of care from diagnosis through treatment, recovery and follow up, helping patients and their families feel informed and supported throughout their journey.
A little about the role
You will join an established and collaborative breast cancer service, working closely with leading consultants and colleagues across surgery, oncology and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Primarily based within our outpatient clinics at 142 to 146 Harley Street, including the one stop breast clinic, you will support patients across both outpatient and inpatient settings. This will include visiting patients before or after surgery when required, as well as providing telephone follow up and wound review appointments where appropriate. Breast surgery is undertaken at 22 Devonshire Place, located directly opposite the outpatient clinics.
As a trusted point of contact for patients and their families, you will provide expert clinical guidance, education and emotional support while helping to coordinate care throughout the pathway. You will work with a high level of autonomy, delivering nurse led clinics and contributing to audit, service development and quality improvement.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
What you’ll be doing
- Act as the primary specialist nurse for patients with breast cancer, providing expert clinical care, education and ongoing support
- Deliver nurse led follow up, survivorship and rapid access clinics
- Support patients attending the one stop breast clinic and coordinate their ongoing care
- Complete specialist assessments, develop individualised care plans and provide preoperative and postoperative counselling
- Visit patients in the inpatient setting before or after surgery when required
- Provide telephone follow up and wound review appointments where clinically appropriate
- Support patients with prosthesis fitting, body image concerns and the emotional impact of treatment
- Work closely with consultants and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient services
- Contribute to audit, research, service development and quality improvement
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior colleagues, students and new Clinical Nurse Specialists

What are we looking for?
- NMC registration as an Adult Nurse
- At least five years’ post registration experience, including a minimum of two years in breast cancer or oncology nursing
- A recognised specialist breast care qualification
- Evidence of continued professional development in oncology or breast care
- Advanced communication skills, with the confidence to discuss sensitive and complex information
- Experience of managing complex patient cases within a multidisciplinary team
