Breeding Unit Manager

We are recruiting for a Breeding Unit Manager in North Lincolnshire, a rare and exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Lincolnshire Pork Co team.

We are looking for an organised, welfare-focussed and detail-oriented individual to take on the running of one of our 750 sow breeding units. This is a hands-on management role, leading an established and experienced team, and taking responsibility for the unit’s welfare, people, compliance, and physical and financial performance.

Key duties include:

  • Herd health planning and implementation
  • Implementation of production policies and monitoring of performance against targets
  • Ensuring compliance with Red Tractor and Welfare Code of Practice
  • Record keeping in line with industry and internal company requirements
  • Management of farm resources; feed, straw, medicines and sundries
  • Responsibility for site health & safety, and organisation of maintenance
  • Contribution to overall pig strategy for the business

  • Experience in all breeding stages of production
  • Evidence of previous experience managing a pig unit to high standards
  • Strong practical skills, a commitment to high welfare standards & attention to detail
  • Leadership skills to guide, motivate and progress the team
  • An effective decision maker able to prioritise livestock, people and organisational issues and escalate accordingly.

Package and Benefits

  • Salary £50,000/annum plus bonus eligibility

Lincolnshire Pork Company is a fifth-generation family farming business with 1,500 breeding sows producing high-welfare pigs through flexible farrowing systems and straw-based growing accommodation across Lincolnshire.
