Bridge Engineer – West Yorkshire

A leading multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Bridge Engineer to join its growing bridges team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a bridge engineer with assessment, inspection or design industry experience looking to work on a diverse portfolio of major UK and Irish infrastructure projects, spanning the design, assessment, inspection, strengthening and refurbishment of both new and existing structures.

You’ll work alongside experienced Senior and Principal Engineers, gaining exposure to technically challenging projects while receiving strong support towards Chartered Engineer status and long-term career progression.

The Projects

The team is currently delivering an exciting range of bridge and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland, including major highway, rail and existing-asset schemes.

Recent and ongoing work includes:

  • Major long-span and complex bridge structures – supporting the monitoring, assessment and management of existing assets, including bearings and other critical structural components.
  • New safety and protection structures – providing client-side technical support, reviewing contractor designs and assisting with the delivery of new structures associated with major bridge assets.
  • Specialist structural analysis – undertaking wind engineering analysis and other technically challenging assessments associated with bridge structures.
  • Major Design & Build schemes – working alongside leading UK contractors on multi-million-pound bridge replacement and structural renewal projects.
  • Major Irish transport infrastructure programmes – delivering bridge and civil structures commissions associated with significant rail and commuter transport investment.
  • New and existing bridge schemes – providing opportunities to work across design, assessment, strengthening, refurbishment and asset management.

With a strong pipeline of work, there is plenty of opportunity to gain experience across new-build bridges, existing structures, assessment, strengthening, refurbishment and asset management.

The Role

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
