We are looking for an experienced Bridges Technical Manager to join Lifespan Structures, managing the technical delivery of our innovative Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bridge solutions.
This is a varied role combining bridge engineering, technical project management, and client liaison, taking projects from order through design, manufacture, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage FRP bridge projects from order through design, manufacture, and delivery.
- Coordinate bridge, parapet, and foundation designs with specialist designers and supply chain partners.
- Prepare and manage Approval in Principle (AiP) and other technical documentation.
- Liaise with clients, bridge owners, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Provide technical input into tenders, proposals, and future opportunities.
- Manage and develop specialist supply chain partners.
- Support installation training, delivery documentation, and maintenance manuals.
- Maintain project pipelines and support sales forecasting.
- Promote Lifespan’s FRP and composite solutions to clients and industry stakeholders.

About You
You will ideally have:
- A relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
- Experience within a bridge design or bridge engineering environment.
- Knowledge of DMRB standards, including CG 300.
- Strong technical project management and commercial awareness.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Basic CAD capability.
- Chartered Engineer status, or be working towards Chartership, would be advantageous.

Experience with FRP or composite structures is desirable but not essential. We are particularly interested in experienced bridge professionals who would like to develop their expertise in this specialist and growing area of infrastructure.
