Broiler Poultry Farm – Assistant Manager
Salary: £36,591 per annum + Performance Bonus Scheme
Accommodation: On-site dwelling available
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Based in: Suffolk
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Farm Manager to join our well-established broiler poultry operation. Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the farm, ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare, production efficiency, and biosecurity are consistently maintained.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced poultry professional looking to step into a senior operational role within a supportive and forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Farm Manager in the overall management and smooth running of the broiler unit
- Monitor bird health, welfare, and performance, taking prompt action where required
- Oversee feed, water, ventilation, and environmental systems to optimise growth conditions
- Manage and supervise farm staff
- Maintain accurate records including flock performance, mortality, medication, and feed usage
- Ensure full compliance with farm assurance schemes, biosecurity protocols, and health & safety regulations
- Carry out regular farm inspections and report any issues to the Farm Manager
- Step up to manage the farm in the absence of the Farm Manager
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a broiler poultry environment (Level 2 NVQ in poultry)
- Strong knowledge of bird welfare, husbandry, and biosecurity best practice
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis

- Relevant agricultural or poultry qualification (Level 3 NVQ in Poultry Production or equivalent)
- Experience with poultry farms
