Broker – Financial Institutions
We're Hiring, Are you ready for a new challenge?
Aon has an exciting opportunity for a Broker to join our Financial Institutions team, which forms part of our Global Broking Centre.
This role would suit someone looking to begin a career in Insurance. Industry experience is not a pre-requisite. The role involves co-ordinating and contributing to the marketing and negotiation of Financial Institutions business within the Lloyd’s and Company Markets on a day-to-day basis. This will include the placement of Wholesale risks from across the globe.
This is a Hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

What the day will look like
- Review Submission
- File maintenance
- Lead quote broking / Follow market broking
- Present terms to client / network
- Firm Order broking (PPL / email)
- Record broking activity in market sheets
- Review draft / final MRC
- Send Cover confirmation to client/network
- Provide benchmarking and placement advice to clients
- Client meetings
- Respond to A/C queries
- Establish and manage pipeline

Working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
How this opportunity is different
Aon are currently recruiting a Broker to join our FI team based in London which is part of the Global Broking Centre, to co-ordinate and contribute to the marketing and negotiation of business within the Company and Lloyd’s Markets on a day-to-day basis in accordance with Marketing Strategy.
The Financial Institutions broking team comprises of 30 Brokers with their own expertise and various levels of experience. The team serves a portfolio of clients mainly emanating from all over the world.

The Global Broking Centre in London is an integral part of Aon’s global broking strategy. The GBC provides colleagues from across the Aon network with access to specialist brokers and client managers, dedicated client solutions and thought leadership, and significant global insurance capacity.
The GBC works with network colleagues to deliver market-leading solutions to Aon clients, creating a competitive advantage in our placement strategies worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced working environment, with access to Lloyds, the London market, European markets and other Aon facilities to deliver the Financial Lines requirements of Aon’s clients.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- An understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes.
- Ability to utilise insurance industry IT systems to efficiently deliver client service.
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of compliance and FCA regulation
- Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
