We are seeking a proactive person to join the Commercial Brokerage Team in the role of Broker Development Manager.

The role of Broker Development Manager will sit within our Client Coverage business, reporting to the Regional Director, supporting with the creation and implementation of a sustainable broker engagement strategy across the Region.

The Broker Development Manager will have primary responsibility for the development of broker relationships. This will include identification and onboarding of new broker relationships to HSBC as well as the development and broadening of relationships with existing brokers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with brokers and other introducers to drive business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to expand the bank’s network of brokers and introducers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely issuance of indicative terms and seamless onboarding of clients introduced by brokers.
  • Build relationships with Local Directors, Team Leaders and Relationship Managers inspiring and motivating colleagues to ensure a consistent broker proposition is delivered.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for business growth.
  • Provide training and support to brokers on the bank’s products, credit appetite and capability.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements relevant to broker interactions.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials for broker engagement.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of a management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels within the proposition.
  • Proactive and frequent involvement in the external marketplace, acting as a senior ambassador for HSBC to grow our proposition and promote the bank.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Proven experience in business development, particularly in the financial services sector.
  • Experience of working with and regularly interacting with CMB clients and KBIs and holding strategic client conversations with complex requirements
  • Strong understanding of banking products, services, and financial markets alongside HSBCs appetite and competitive advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations with a willingness and ability to interact and quickly build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams and competing deadlines, with excellent time management, planning and organization skills.
  • Influencing skills and ability to build positive working relationships with intermediaries, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and drive performance across the business to improve efficiency and grow business.

This is a hybrid role where the base location can be based in St Albans, Reading or Whiteley. Willingness to travel regionally and carry out regular meetings with Brokers, Team Leaders, and Relationship Managers is required.
