Aon is currently recruiting a Broker to join the Political Risk and Structured Credit team within our Global Broking Centre. The team forms part of the wider global Credit Solutions practice. The role will also work closely with the international carbon credit insurance team, operating as the wholesale broking lead for carbon credit insurance in London.
In this role you will be co-ordinating and contributing to the marketing and negotiation of this Political Risk and Structured Credit business within the Lloyd’s and Company Markets on a day-to-day basis.

What the day will look like
Working as part of a successful team your duties will include:
- Facilitating and leading virtual and in-person client and market meetings.
- Preparing market submissions that bring together clients’ needs and completing placements through all phases from Non-Binding Indication to confirmation of cover.
- Working with colleagues in the Aon team to develop clients, guiding them from initial meetings to binding first policies as well as servicing existing clients.
- Structuring solutions for clients trading and investing in both OECD and developing economies.
- Efficiently canvassing the market and negotiating to achieve the best possible outcomes for the client.
- Representing Aon at client meetings and trade conferences including opportunity to travel to Paris, Singapore, South Africa, Dubai, US and Scandinavia or indeed wherever there is an opportunity to develop or maintain client relationships.

The role will also involve working with Aon’s carbon credit insurance team to execute on a range of insurance deals and support business development. Aon’s carbon credit insurance team provide insurance, analytics and risk advice for nature-based solutions and climate technologies that generate carbon credits - reducing financial risks to enable investment and offtake confidence in climate projects. They partner with project developers, financiers, large corporates and across the whole risk capital market to develop solutions with carbon offset insurers (those providing non-delivery, non-payment, reversal, and invalidation insurance), climate-centric insurers with specialist products (Nature restoration, forestry) and other relevant markets (credit insurance, political risk, etc.)

How this opportunity is different

In this role you will also be a key person in executing Aon's Carbon Credit Insurance growth strategy - developing our leading position in this new market. Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Previous London Market Credit & Political Risk insurance experience gained within either a Broker or Insurer
- Experience of leading effective client relationships
- Engaging communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of compliance and FCA regulation
- ACII qualified would be advantageous
- A curious, innovative and proactive mindset, with an interest in new markets and emerging insurance solutions and the ability to develop differentiated risk transfer structures with colleagues, clients and insurers.
- Highly organised and efficient in executing broking activity across a diverse international portfolio, including supporting Aon’s carbon credit insurance team and building relationships with relevant specialist markets.
