JOB DESCRIPTION
Required Experience – Environment Management, Change Management, or Release Coordination
Location – Bromley, UK
Compensation – Competitive (including bonus)
Role summary
We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) who will be responsible for coordinating and governing the end-to-end release lifecycle across multiple teams and environments, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software releases. The role acts as a key liaison between Development, QA, DevOps, SRE, and business stakeholders, driving release planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end Release Management lifecycle, ensuring predictable, high-quality, and timely releases across environments
- Define, implement, and continuously improve Release Management processes, tools, and best practices
- Demonstrate proven experience in optimizing release processes (e.g., reducing release cycle time, improving success rates, minimizing rollbacks)
- Coordinate closely with Development, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams to plan, schedule, and execute releases
- Ensure proper release readiness, risk assessment, dependency management, and go/no-go decision support
- Lead and mentor release engineers, providing guidance on tools, processes, and operational excellence
- Act as a key stakeholder in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, ensuring releases align with sprint and program milestones
- Drive effective communication with stakeholders, including status reporting, release notes, and post-release reviews
- Support audits, compliance needs, and release-related governance as required.

Required
- 6+ years of overall IT industry experience, with strong Environment Management, Change Management, or Release Coordination roles
- Strong understanding of Release Management processes, tools, and industry best practices
- Hands-on experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery models
- Proven ability to work effectively with Dev, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams
- Experience leading or mentoring release or deployment engineers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate at a managerial or solution-architect level, while still being hands-on when needed.
