About The Role
BTS Systems Support Analyst
This full-time 12 month fixed term role, available from 1st December 2026 until 30 November 2027.
The starting salary will be from £33,951 on Grade E depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.

This role sits within Business Technology Services (BTS). This department bridges the gap between the business and IT on matters relating to the provision and automation of business services. We focus on ensuring that these services and products are effectively aligned with the business needs and Strategy 2030.
This role reports to the BTS Systems Support Lead and sits within the BTS Systems Support team. BTS Systems Support has responsibility for the support and development of core university business applications that support the day to day running of key teams in Professional Services, Estates and Education. These platforms range in size from large scale HR & Finance products (Technology One, iTrent) to smaller products that support specific processes such as student accommodation, online payments and graduate career opportunities.

The team also plays a central role in ensuring integrations between platforms are supported and maintained.
About You
You are a motivated and proactive IT professional with a passion for delivering high-quality business systems and digital services. You enjoy solving complex technical problems, working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, and finding opportunities to improve processes through technology and automation.
With experience supporting and developing business-critical applications, integrations, or SaaS platforms, you have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and can confidently investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. You understand software design principles and have experience working with APIs and web services, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can change, and you take ownership of your work while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and service improvement. Building positive relationships comes naturally to you, and you enjoy collaborating with colleagues, users, and third-party suppliers to achieve shared goals.
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience of supporting large-scale business systems such as HR, Finance, or similar enterprise applications. Experience with Microsoft technologies, Power Platform, Cloud services, Agile delivery methods, or DevOps practices would be advantageous.
