Location
The position can be based in one of the following cities: Bogotá (Colombia), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Kingston (Jamaica), Lima (Peru), Mexico City (Mexico), Panama City (Panama), Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), São Paulo (Brazil). The specific location will be determined based on business need, allowing us to strategically align talent with organizational priorities.

About This Position
We are looking for a dynamic professional to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Portfolio Management and Business Intelligence function within the Ecosystem Building and Acceleration (EBA) Division of IDB Lab in any country of the region. The EBA Division leads ecosystem development initiatives that foster entrepreneurship and help create new markets. It also originates and manages the portfolio of non-reimbursable technical cooperations (TCs), including the deployment and, in coordination with Global Partnerships Office (GPS), mobilization of non-reimbursable financing. In addition, the Division manages the operational relationship with the IDB to ensure an appropriate distribution of TCs across countries and strategic areas, and oversees key strategic partnerships and the connections program, including flagship events and related initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance for EBA operations, including KPIs and results frameworks, project status, trends, and data quality across the project lifecycle.
- Conduct portfolio analysis, including legacy portfolio assessments, repayment projections and financial outlooks, leverage metrics, and portfolio risk classification and segmentation.
- Prepare reports (quarterly, annual) and strategic insights for senior management, donor reporting, and other internal stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making. and leadership committees
- Improve portfolio tools, systems, and processes by strengthening dashboards, reporting platforms, monitoring frameworks, and operational analytics.
- Support risk management and stakeholder coordination by identifying emerging issues, contributing to special assets oversight, and working with supervision team leaders and relevant stakeholders on corrective actions, partnerships, and knowledge sharing.

What You'll Need
Education:
Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in finance, economics, business administration, public policy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience:
At least four years of relevant professional experience, preferably five years of experience, in portfolio management, financial analysis, or risk management, preferably in development finance or multilateral institutions. Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) as well as digital productivity tools and AI-assisted environments (e.g., Microsoft Copilot or similar) to enhance analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency is highly desirable.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
Requirements
Citizenship:
You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. Must be eligible to work in job location(s) without the need for sponsorship.
Consanguinity:
You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
Staff:
National staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
