Job Opportunity: Build Engineer
World Wide Technology (WWT) is looking for an experienced Build Engineer to deploy and scale on-premises Red Hat OpenShift and Wind River platforms. The role involves building and automating bare-metal Kubernetes clusters, supporting customer testing and acceptance, maintaining deployment documentation, and enabling operational handover.
This is a contract Role & Outside IR35

Contract Duration: 6 months!
Location: Remote, London, United Kingdom
Responsibilities
- Deploy and scale on-prem infrastructure for Red Hat OpenShift and Wind River platforms.
- Build Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters following established designs and deployment procedures.
- Work with architects and OEM partners to transition reference designs into production deployments.
- Support testing, validation, and customer acceptance activities.
- Maintain build documentation and ensure infrastructure meets workload requirements.
- Leverage automation and Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) for large-scale deployments.
- Provide knowledge transfer and operational support during early-life phases.

Essential Skills
- Proven experience deploying and managing on-prem Kubernetes environments, ideally Red Hat OpenShift.
- Hands-on experience with bare-metal deployments, automation, and ZTP.
- Ability to develop low-level implementation designs from high-level architectures and CMDB/IPAM data.
- Strong understanding of datacenter infrastructure and physical deployment considerations.
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills
- Red Hat Virtualization (RHV), OpenStack, and Wind River platforms.
- OpenShift, KubeVirt, and Telco Network Cloud (TNC) architectures.
- Kubernetes networking and storage technologies (Calico, MetalLB, Istio, Pure, Portworx).
- Experience with Arista or Cisco datacenter network fabrics.
- CI/CD, GitLab, and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to telecom environments and related security standards.
