Build Technician
We are looking for a Build Technician to work for a growing clean-tech company based in a brand-new fabrication facility. Joining a small, collaborative engineering team, you will assemble complex products and prototypes in low volumes rather than repetitive production-line work, with the chance to get involved in test rigs and future battery projects.
Responsibilities
- Electromechanical assembly of the company's products, working from CAD drawings and build instructions
- Electrical assembly and wiring, including fitting connectors and routing wiring
- Building prototypes and test rigs alongside the Mechanical Design and Prototype Engineering teams
- Using workshop equipment including 3D printers, CNC machines, metal cutting equipment and pillar drills
- Supporting the battery team with rigs and battery-related components as the business develops
- Resolving practical build issues and feeding back to the engineering team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
