Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced BMS (Building Management System) Manager to lead the implementation, integration, and ongoing maintenance of advanced building automation systems, including BMS, CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television), and ACS (Access Control Systems). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IT-enabled BMS solutions, such as Schneider Electric or other leading brands, with a strong track record in greenfield project environments and ongoing support operations.

Key Responsibility Areas
- Lead the design, deployment, and commissioning of BMS, CCTV, and ACS systems, ensuring seamless IT integration and optimal performance.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of BMS projects in greenfield developments, from requirements gathering and system architecture to installation, testing, and handover.
- Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of all building automation systems, focusing on minimizing downtime and maximizing system reliability.
- Develop and enforce best practices for cybersecurity, data integrity, and network infrastructure associated with BMS and integrated systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities, security, and external vendors, to ensure cohesive project execution and ongoing support.
- Maintain system documentation, drawings, software backups, databases, and system records.
- Ensure compliancy with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Manage BMS contractors, suppliers, and specialist service providers.
- Ensure BMS modifications, upgrades, and projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Train and mentor in-house technical staff and end-users on system functionality, operational procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Monitor system performance and generate reports to inform management of system health, potential issues, and recommendations for improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce site operating costs.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring applications align with future business needs.
- Drive continuous improvements, standardisation, and adoption of innovative IT solutions across global teams.

Required Skills And Experience
- Experience in supporting and maintaining BMS, CCTV, and ACS in commercial or industrial environments.
- Proven experience with Schneider Electric BMS or similar platforms, especially in greenfield (new construction) projects.
- Strong understanding of industrial controls, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and control networks.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, system architecture, and cybersecurity best practices for building automation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with diverse teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Schneider Electric EcoXpert, Cisco, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working alongside regulators, business partners, and third-party contractors, addressing concerns and managing expectations.
- Strong understanding of the business processes and IT systems that are critical to the organisation’s operations, and how they may be affected by different scenarios.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing BMS Operations in Manufacturing Industry is mandatory.
- Familiarity with IoT, cloud-based BMS solutions, and smart building technologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for building automation and security systems.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills to support business-IT alignment.
- Ability to work onsite in Somerset, UK in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
