Building Conservation Officer

Bovey Tracey, Devon

About Us

At Dartmoor National Park Authority, we are privileged to care for one of the country’s most iconic and inspiring landscapes. Alongside its breathtaking scenery, Dartmoor is rich in historic buildings and cultural heritage that tell the story of generations who have lived and worked here. We are committed to protecting these special places while supporting thriving communities and a sustainable future. Joining us means becoming part of a passionate and collaborative organisation where your expertise can make a lasting difference to the conservation of Dartmoor’s unique historic environment.

The Role

This is a rewarding opportunity for a heritage professional who wants to make a tangible impact in a nationally significant protected landscape. As Building Conservation Officer, you will help shape the future of Dartmoor’s historic built environment, providing expert advice on listed buildings and heritage assets, guiding sensitive development, and supporting the conservation of the National Park’s distinctive character. A varied work programme; from visiting historic sites and working with property owners to contributing to projects, policies and community engagement initiatives, you will play a central role in ensuring Dartmoor’s heritage is understood, protected and enjoyed for generations to come.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
