What You’ll Be Doing
As the technical expert within your area of registration, you’ll be a key point of contact for other Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team. You’ll apply your Building Regulations expertise to assess and process applications efficiently, while building strong relationships with clients, builders and technical colleagues.
You’ll:
- Assess building control applications for low-rise residential developments of up to three storeys, within your RBI class banding.
- Act as the primary client contact during the design phase, including managing design amendments during construction and supporting effective compliance with Building Regulations.
- Check and monitor projects accurately, ensuring statutory consultations are completed within required timescales and appropriate design evidence is provided.
- Contribute to applications for other development types under supervision, supporting the expansion of your experience and scope of registration.
- Help resolve technical and compliance issues relating to initial notices, design approvals, site work and final certificates.
- Support Risk Management Surveyors with technical advice and key inspection stages for complex building control elements, in line with supervision and escalation policies.
- Carry out site inspections where required and within your RBI class banding.
- Provide technical support and escalation for Registered Building Inspectors within your regional team, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
- Champion quality and regulatory compliance, contributing to monitoring, sampling, audit activity and continuous service improvement.
- Support house type approvals and bespoke building control quotations where required.
- Promote Premier Guarantee services and build positive relationships with existing and potential clients.

What You Bring
- Strong technical knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant construction standards.
- The ability to undertake site inspections and assess construction quality and building defects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with construction professionals, clients and members of the public.

- The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.

What You’ll Need
- A minimum Associate-level or similar surveying qualification, such as AssocRICS, TechCIOB, Grad CABE, ACABE or equivalent, with the ambition to progress towards full chartered membership.
- Registration as a minimum Class 2A Registered Building Inspector.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
- A full UK driving licence (automatic or manual).
